Biography

Andre was born in Saint-Eugene in Algiers on 2 May 1935. In 1963 he received his diploma from L'Ecole des Metiers, rue de Torigny, Paris. From 1969 - 1974, Andre was lecturing at L'Ecole National des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Andre has consistently been exhibited since 1968 in France, Germany, Japan, Spain, Bratislava, Czechoslovakia and Italy. He has also illustrated numerous magazines and publications including Paris-Match, Le Point, Marie-Claire, Elle, New Yorker, and Fortune. His publicity campaigns have included Havas, Synergie, Vichy Saint-Yorre, Olympique Airways, Renault, Citroen, Elf, Shell, Nescafe, Ville de Paris, and Tokyu Homes. Andre has been the author of fifteen books which have been published all over the world. For Both these and his illustrations, he has won numerous prizes, awards and distinctions.
