Shelly Meridith / USA

Shelly Meridith is an illustrator, designer, inventor and founder of Shelly Adventures. A 1985 graduate of the University of Kansas, Shelly gained licensing experience with the notable Universal Press Syndicate and DeterminedProductions, located in the Midwest. In 1987, the Walt Disney Company lured Shelly to New York City as a Senior Designer in their Consumer Product and Licensing Department. Only a year later, she ventured into entrepreneur- ship, opening a design studio in Soho, called Shelly Adventures. One of her most notable endeavours includes creating and manufactoring a plush interactive toy, called The Roomies for their 1993 debut at the American International Toy Fair. Shelly is also an illustrator for children's books as well as other advertising clients, and collaborates on projects ranging from toy design to product development. Clients include Scholastic, Nickolodeon, Henson Productions, Warner Brothers, Disney and FAO Schwarz. Finding the childlike wonderment in all us and crafting a world of fantasy is a desire Shelly Meridith has followed to build to a business of creativity, innovation and expression.
